Your membership to the guild includes…

  • The core of the North Carolina Falconers Guild is our community. There is no better way for us to strengthen our small community of falconers than to put on great field meets. Field meets consist of hunting, comradery, food, guest speakers, and an auction fundraiser. Our field meets are a great way to meet falconers and experience the thrill of a hunt firsthand. All nonmembers should contact an officer for an invitation to attend one of our events.

The Guild currently hosts two annual field meets: the Denton meet at Camp Walter Johnson, and Rockingham County meet, in Madison. Mini-meets are hosted as and when available.

  • As a guild, we host a Fall picnic prior to the start of our hunting season, typically on the first Saturday after Memorial Day weekend.

This is a great way for members to get together, show off their birds, and share stories. This is another great way for members of the public to come out and meet falconers. Nonmembers should contact an officer to inquire about an invitation.

  • The guild officers and volunteer committee draft and present a Spring and Fall newsletter.

The Spring newsletter recaps our season and the events hosted by the guild, while the Fall newsletter provides information on the upcoming season including events and other pertinent information.

  • The Introduction to Falconry Workshop is held annually in cooperation with the North American Falconers Association and the NC Wildlife Resources Commission as a way to introduce and educate prospective or current apprentices.

Activities can include presentations, hands-on equipment making, demonstrations, the opportunity to get up close with live birds, and learn common health conditions.

  • The annual NCFG Auction at the Denton meet is our primary fundraising source. Proceeds from this auction is how we are able to host this website, organize events, and provide food at our events. This is a great opportunity for falconers to pick up much-needed books, gift certificates, and equipment. Our auctions are proudly sponsored by supporting falconry equipment and book vendors, as well as donated items from the membership.
